It is the only tertiary grade A eye specialty hospital in Chengdu and a municipal key specialty in ophthalmology. The hospital was jointly founded by more than ten renowned ophthalmologists in China, including Hu Yuzhang, Zhang Junjun, Liu Yi, Yao Xiaoming, and Lian Hao.
